Encyclopedia of Earth resources for informal educators

Encylopedia of Earth has posted an extensive article about the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The site, which is supported by the National Council for Science and the Environment and the Environmental Information Coalition, is a free, searchable Wikipedia-like reference "about the Earth, its natural environments, and their interaction with society." Articles are written in non-technical language for a broad range of users, including those most often served by informal science educators.

Encyclopedia of Earth is part of Earth Portal. The site offers other resources for educators and an RSS feed for regular updates.
