Informal science education supports people of all ages and walks of life in exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) has posted an updated announcement for the Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) program, part of the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR).
Applications are due July 28.
Since 1991 the SEPA program has supported K-12 and informal science education projects in order to help develop "a diversified pipeline for basic, behavioral, and clinical research fields and to educate the community on NIH-funded research and health-related issues." Details are here.
Participants in the March ISE Summit 2010 heard more about the program from NCRR Director Barbara Alving; a summary of her remarks is here (in the section "How Federal Agencies Are Working with the ISE Community").
