Science after school

Jason Freeman reports that the Coalition for Science After School (CSAS), based at the Lawrence Hall of Science, Berkeley, has released two reports of interest to others in the ISE field:

  • Strengthening After-School STEM Staff Development is a 34-page resource for those planning staff development to strengthen after-school science programming, based on work by CSAS members, with funding from the Noyce Foundation. A 4-page research brief and the full report are available here.
  • Science in After-School Market Research Study, summarizing results of a 2008 study of the frequency and nature of science programming in after-school settings, carried out by CSAS in partnership with the Lawrence Hall of Science, with funding from the S. D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation, is available here (PDF).
