Informal science education supports people of all ages and walks of life in exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

On October 18, during the annual conference of the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, CAISE reported on current work and talked with an overflow audience about future directions. In two sessions moderated by CAISE Director Ellen McCallie, leaders of CAISE Inquiry Groups shared updates and asked for contributions from the field. In addition, John Falk, Co-PI of CAISE, summarized results of Oregon State University's recently completed study of the informal science education "landscape" and discussed implications for efforts to strengthen the ISE community.
