Sailboat Science

Around the Americas

March 02, 2010 by Diane Carlson

Around the Americas is a clockwise circumnavigation of the North and South American continents. We partner with organizations in every port of call: universities, libraries, maritime and science museums and yacht clubs.

Inquiry-based, science-driven materials are accessible to educators who wish to engage students. The documents are in Spanish and English. Materials are aligned to the Centers for Ocean Science Excellence in Education (COSEE) ocean literacy principles and U.S. and Canadian national science standards. Topics include ocean acidification, coral reef ecology, changes in sea level, sustainable fisheries, and marine biodiversity.
