More than 150 educators from science centers, museums, zoos, and aquariums; media projects; and community programs gathered in San Diego to expand their understanding of climate change science and to explore new data on public attitudes and strategies for communicating with public audiences on this important issue. The invitational Climate Literacy Conference, funded by NSF and sponsored by AAAS in collaboration with the Birch Aquarium at Scripps, provided opportunities for informal science educators to interact with scientists and other experts in public opinion, communications, media, exhibit design, and program development and to explore synergies across a wide range of informal science experiences and settings.
