ARKive is using the power of wildlife imagery to increase environmental literacy by gathering together the very best films, photographs, and audio recordings of the world’s threatened animals, plants, and fungi into a unique and centralized digital library, and then actively and freely disseminates this media via www.arkive.org. ARKive is leading the “virtual” conservation and education effort by creating comprehensive and enduring multimedia species profiles that depict typical species’ characteristics – what it looks like, where it lives, how it behaves and why it is special.
