Public Works for Public Learning

The Golden Gate Bridge as an Informal Science Education Resource

February 26, 2010 by Denis Mulligan

Development is underway for outdoor, interactive exhibits to surprise the 10 million annual visitors that come to the Golden Gate Bridge with the opportunity to explore and learn about the science, technology and engineering of the Bridge. This will be leveraged with a special conference on June 21-22, 2012 in San Francisco to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Bridge where educators, engineers, scientists and public works owners from around the world will come together to seek new ways to use public works as catalysts for public engagement with science and engineering. Mark your calendars!
