Parent Partners in School Science (PPSS), initiated in 2001, was designed to provide a proof-of-concept of the ways in which an informal science center can function as a facilitator for parental support of the K-4 school science instructional program. PPSS offers inquiry-based science learning opportunities in the museum, the home and the school-community, creating an environment that simultaneously engages parents, teachers, and children in science learning experiences. Evaluation and research findings are in preparation for publication.
