Maya Skies: Research & Capacity Building in Fulldome Planetariums

Chabot Space & Science Center in collaboration with INSIGHT, ARTSlab and ILI, has produced the world’s first planetarium show featuring the Maya culture – Tales of the Maya Skies. Breaking new ground in digital dome-show production the show incorporates 3-D laser scanning and sophisticated post-production rendering techniques to present a new genre of immersive, cultural digital theater and an unforgettable immersive experience. Tales of the Maya Skies also provides the platform for innovative research on the influence of both cultural relevance, and the immersive experience, on learning.
