Hurricane Katrina: What Have We Learned?

March 02, 2010 by gail scowcroft

The URI Graduate School of Oceanography in partnership with the Louisiana State Museum will launch a new educational website, Hurricanes: Science and Society in October. This interactive site is being developed by a team of the country’s top hurricane scientists and science education experts. All scientific content is based on peer-reviewed literature and written for an audience of middle schoolers through undergraduates. The site contains everything from the latest in hurricane forescasting and observation technologies to hurricane response and mitigation strategies. The website will be included in an exciting new exhibition at the Museum, Hurricane Katrina: What Have We Learned.
